"Pobeda. 1941-1945" - Photo & Film Collection of the Great Patriotic War
The site, hosted as part of the "Russian Archives" portal, contains a catalog of electronic images of archival photo, phono and film documents stored in state archives of the Russian Federation.
Site "Victory. 1941-1945" includes an exposition of the most striking archival photographs, revealing the greatness and historical significance of the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, and information on the composition and scope of wartime documentary photographs, kept in the state archives of the Russian Federation.
Photographic documents are accompanied by the information about the place, date, authors, and participants of the war events depicted in the photographs as well as by the information about their storage locations and archive codes. In some of the photographic documents the dates of shooting, information about the authors, etc. are unknown.
Of particular military-historical and artistic value are the works of the well-known front-line photo correspondents - E. Khalidei, O. Knorring, M. Alpert, Y. Halip, V. Tarasevich, E. Evzerikhin, I. Narcissov, G. Zelma, B. Ignatovich, V. Kinelovsky, L. Konov, O. Lander, I. Ozersky, M. Redkin, S. Strunnikov, V. Temin, A. Shaikhet, V. Yashkova and others, As well as a number of rare photographs, the authors of which are not identified.
The site features photos by the US army press service, photos seized from captive soldiers of the Wehrmacht, photos of the Ministry of Propaganda of the Third Reich and the photos collected by the CHGK.
The number of electronic images is 2,885. The total duration of the film fragments - 5 hours 38 minutes and 39 seconds. Total duration of phonodocuments - 3 hours 36 seconds.
